AAAEA- CA Chapter News:

The chapter continues to prepare for the November end of year Gala which will feature Mr. Phil Washington, CEO of LA Metro.  The Gala is being rescheduled to November 16th.

On August 8, 2017, our member Ghina Yamout with Alta Environmental attended a gathering of Arab American Engineers at the Caltrans District 11 Professional Organizations fair in San Diego.  She introduced AAAEA to the group and encouraged to participate and become members.

This is a picture of the restored Echo Park Lake in the heart of Los Angeles.  This is many of the green storm-water infrastructure projects that are improving water quality while providing multi-benefits.This project improved the quality of water in the lake while restoring the beneficial use in the lake and the park amenities.  The project costed nearly $37 million funded mainly from Proposition O, a City of Los Angeles Water Quality Bond Measure.  Projects like this are not only improving water quality and permit compliance, they are enhancing the quality of life in our communities. Three of our current or past members were involved in this great projects: Hala Titus led the design team, Walid Azar (PMCS Group)  led the construction management team and Adel Hagekhalil was the owner’s representative.
